What I was Able to Find

Now that I told you what my favorite book is, what the critics think, what the book means to me, and something about someone in the book. Now I will give you some information on what I have researched to go in greater detail about the book The Notebook.
This book was written by Nicholas Sparks, he said that ". . . It wasn't easy to come up with the plot for my first novel, but in the end, I decided to go with something that I knew I could do." Sparks began writing The Notebook in 1989, and the book was inspired by his wife's grandparents. Sparks says that "they are two wonderful people who spent over 60 years together." That is a long time for anyone.
The Notebook was the first novel that Sparks had ever written. There are many reviews on the book and everyone that has read the book has said almost the same thing and that is "A beautiful love story, possibly the most beautiful ever told. A tale never forgotten. It is one for the romantics, love conquers all. " For me, after i read a review and read how the way that it is said to make you feel while you are reading the book and you will never forget it, I am going to read the book right away. The books has also been known to stay over a year at number one on the New York's Best Sale's List which is hard to do i both hard back and paper.
Sparks has been married to his wife since 1989 and they have resided in the coastal region of North Carolina ever since. The couple has had five children over the years (Sparks). Over the past thirteen years Sparks has written over ten novels and has used the names of his children as well as other family members or people that are close to them as characters in the novels that were inspired by stories of the people that he knew.
Over time the book as kept its honor and everyone still talks about the book as if it was written yesterday. This is a true book that will stay a classic forever because you can not find a story that is so close to being true and not keep it with you through life's long journey.

Who is Ally?

The book The Notebook was made into a movie in 2004 and one of the main characters name was Ally Hamilton, her character was played by a beautiful and talented young women named Rachel McAdams.
Rachel was born on November 17th, 1978 in St. Joseph's Hospital, in London, Ontario, which was also the birth place of co-star Ryan Gosling. She was born to her father Lance who was a truck driver, and her mother Sandy who was a nurse. Rachel has a younger sister and a younger brother also.
She was a very active child and always wanted to act, even from a young age. At the age of thirteen she was performing in Shakespearean productions in summer theater camp. As Rachel grew through high school she thought that everyone would make fun of her if she had went to college for theater, so she chose to study cultural studies in college. She almost did until the drama teacher talked her into trying out for the drama performance at school, after the performance Rachel finally decided to follower her heart and to major in drama at York University where she graduated with honors.
Over the years she had many different rolls in different TV shows. One of the shows was a Disney program called The Famous Jett Jackson . It was not until 2004 when Rachel made her big screen appearance in both Mean Girls and The Notebook.
She has also played in other films too such as Wedding Crashers and is currently filming in London.
Rachel is a very intelligent person and is very economical, she does not have a car and takes the bus or rides her bike if she can about everywhere she goes. She has lived in both Canada and the USA, but currently resides in Canada.

What Is Good Writing?

What is good writing? That is a question that is asked by a student, teacher, or anyone else who wants to know the answer to that question. This question can be answered in so many different ways that is not funny, so I am going to tell you what I think or what I consider to be good writing.
To me good writing all starts when you think about who you are writing to, you need to know your audience. This is a common mistake that many people make, they do not focus on who they are writing to. I will give you an example about the first day of English 111, my professor gave us a topic that said "Imagine what you will be doing in 5, 10, or 20+ years (pick one). Describe where you plan to be in life (personally, professionally, etc.) and explain the steps you will take to get there." Everyone in the class neglected to read the boxes at the top of the paper that said "Audience," and in this box said to write this as is you were writing it to a"Potential employer or college admissions office who will use this sample to gauge your ability to communicate effectively through writing." Needless to say not just a few people, but the whole class wrote to the professor and not to the correct audience. After everyone received their grade on the paper, everyone then read the top of the page. SO make sure you know your audience.
Another thing to great writing is a skill that I often struggle with and that is spelling and grammar. One thing everyone looks at when they read a paper is how the words are spelled and how the sentence is structured and that is the main key in writing a great paper, to know how to spell and how to check your grammar.
Be a good writing will come to a person if they would just take the time to sit down and write something, and it does not have to be a lot but just enough to matter.

What I Truley Love

Since I have already told you about what I love and what the critics think about it, now am going to tell you what the book "The Notebook" by Nicholas Sparks, and what it means to me personally.
This book is a book that I can truly relate to in a similar way. About four years ago I met this guy, I already had a boyfriend but that never means anything to teenagers right? Well anyway I met a guy over the summer and no one wanted it to last past the first week, that is the very few people that knew about us, but needless to say my boyfriend found out what was going on and we broke up. The guy that I had met was still there and I truly did like him a lot. He was nice guy and kinda cute too so that was a plus.
Like in The Notebook we were both crazy about each other, any time that we had free from work or just a few minutes to talk on the phone we were always together just like Ally and Noah. We did not agree on everything adn we did fight quite a bit at first too, but it did not matter we just look each other in the eyes and totally forgot what we were argueing about. That is what you call summer love.
This book just means so much to me because Ally and Noah may have been apart for some time, but they foudn one another and stayed togetehr forever. Matthew and I have been together for almost four years and I hope that we can make it last and have a wonderful life just like them.

What They Had To Say

Since I have been alive no matter what you do or how you do it someone always has an opinion on what they thought about what you did. So I have found a few reviews on my favorite book, some are good and some are bad. But the most important thing to me is that I thought the book was great, but it is nice to get others thoughts as well.

“A man with a faded, well-worn notebook open in his lap. A woman experiencing a morning ritual she doesn't understand. Until he begins to read to her. The Notebook is an achingly tender story about the enduring power of love, a story of miracles that will stay with you forever.” I found this quote from the Jacket and it reveals that they thought that this story was just breathe taking and is a story that you will cherish and take with you as long as you can remember because the story is so moving and is all about true love.

However, Peter Travers had a different view of the notebook and said that” I have the same allergic reaction to this open faucet of tear-jerking swill as I do to the 1996 Nicholas Sparks novel that inspired it. It's two cringe-worthy love stories for the price of one: Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams star in the 1940s flashbacks, with James Garner and Gena Rowlands -- mom of the film's director, Nick Cassavetes -- doing nursing-home duty in the present day. Their careers will survive, but there's no way to endure the movie without earplugs and a blindfold.” This review plainly tells how he feels about the whole book and movie, and that is he has no absolute use for either one. He would rather be sticking himself with needles than reading or listening.

After reading the two reviews I realized that many people have different opinions about so many different things. And all that everything comes down to is that you either like it or you don’t and it is as simple as that.

Coming Soon a Feature Presentation

Do you believe in love at first sight? Well no many people do but in my favorite book, “The Notebook” by Nicholas Sparks”, this book can prove to a person more than once that love at first sight can exist.

The first time that I ever saw this book I thought to myself do I want to read this or do I not want to read this book. I had already watched the movie and loved it, and I have always been told that the book is better than the movie, so I thought to myself and said want don’t I just the chance to do something that I do not usually do and sit down and read this book. Now I am the kind of person that if I am not into something within the first few pages then I will never pick it up again, well the minute that I started reading this book I was so into it.
The thing about the book that drew me to it more and more was that it was based in NC, and to me that meant a lot knowing that the beaches that I walk on when I go to the beach have been wrote about and have made it known across the country. The book showed that NC is a beautiful place to enjoy over the summer, but what it also demonstrated was that you can find love on summer vacation.

“The Notebook,” is a book about two young adults, Noah Calhoun and Allison Hamilton, who fall in love over the summer. It all starts when Noah sees Allie at the fair and he told his friend Fen that that girl was the beautiful girl that he had ever seen. Fen told him that he did not have a chance and she was a rich girl and was only here in Seabrook for the summer. Well over time Noah and Allie fall in love and at the end of the summer are forced to go different ways. Over the years Noah write but does not get a reply so he decides to enlist in WWII with Fin who gets killed. After war Noah moves back and restores the Windsor Plantation. Allie is getting fitted in her wedding dress to Lon Hammond who is a rich lawyer, when she sees a picture of Noah and falls back in love with him. From that point on she found Noah they were inseparable once again.
To me this is just a story of proof that love can truly happen at first sight. You may not spend a life together right away but if you really love someone then time does not matter and it can wait a life time.

Corvettes

Everyone dreams of owning a beautiful all American sport car in a life time. The answer to that question is the Chevrolet Corvette.
The Corvette was first introduced to America in the early fifties. Harley Earl was hired at GM to create the latest designs for Chevrolet; he decided that after WWII America needed a sports car because all the soldiers returning had purchased many foreign cars and were bringing them to America where there was nothing to compete with them. This lead to a whole new plan to creating a new car; the first corvettes were simply almost like a normal corvette car and would not compete with any other sport car. The car was simply on a normal Chevy frame and had a 2speed automatic transmission. This car needed much more improvement and was about to be placed on the back shelf for later design until a woman, named Arkus-Duntov, introduced a three speed transmission with the V8 engine in 1955.
It was after this that the second generation of corvettes was born. The door is now back open for better and faster improvements to the car. In between the years 1963 and 1957 the C2 Sting Ray was introduced. This car had several improvements from the first generation. This was the decade when Chevrolet introduced the “Big Block Engine”, the car also had something else that had never been seen before, for example the side exhausts system, also the coupe version of the car was introduced making it a new and very collectable car in 1966.
Many more improvements were introduced from 1968 to 1982. In these years the engines were bigger and are still getting bigger till this day. The main thing that changed was the body style and GM wanted to keep it a secret but the release of the hot wheels toy car gave it away. This helped the interest by drawing people to the new and improved designs.
After researching just this much about these cars, I have really fallen in love with them. Just knowing that someone had taken the time to create en all American car to fulfill the American Dream. This shows that people can really do something if they just put their mind to it.
